Umm... I don't have any contract. And I want my N900 to last forever - at least until something better* is available. I'm not a fortune teller, but I guess this will be a very long time.
*) In my case "better" means something in between what the N900 is currently and a phone that is 100% open source running Debian natively - ideally with the required additional software (phone, sms, a working hildon-desktop) in the Debian main repository.
