Hello thread I am able to exec fAircrack up to "Start Packet Capture" button in "access point" tab but it is written in post 1 that I should expect an xterm window to popup... with mine there's popup after i selected my AP and started the "Start Packet Capture" whats the fix for this?

"authenticate" and "start packet injection" buttons are disabled couldn't generate and inject arp packets to ap

My AP is in channel 11. When pressing the Scan button, it does not appear in the available WEP APs. What can I do?

    Thanks a lot.
Try scanning for longer. If the signal is weak it may take longer than the default 5 seconds to detect it. just use the + and - symbols and set it to 10.

might have to look into that
Basically they are enourmous lists of every possible character combination.

I think 10 - 15 mins is a bit unrealistic though unless you have an incredibly fast PC.

Run it from terminal with this command as a normal user:

    sh /home/user/MyDocs/FAS/launch.sh

Then post any errors here when you click the button

Thanks for you reply. I am sitting with my laptop in front and my N900 besides me and it cannot detect my AP which is just 2m away.

When pressing the Scan button, the APs of my neighbours are shown; however, mine is not.

Does the ESSID have a space between words?

I think this is still a problem that I'm working on

EDIT: Or is the ESSID blank?

Copy/extract them to the /home/user/MyDocs/FAS/dict/ directory.

Then just select it in the wpa decryption tab

Will it be possible to scan packages and find the name of an SSID that is blank? Or add a field to enter the name at any point (down the line).

Edit: My mistake: The SSID was hidden.

    Thanks a lot.
