https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/mr0 (Nokia System Software Updates) and https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/apps (Nokia Applications) are both enabled. As I said, I cannot deinstall n900-fmrx-enabler because of dependencies.

I had to downgrade n900-fmrx-enabler to version 1.5-1+0m5 from 1.5-4+0m5 in order to make fmradio 2010.03.20 work.

Code:
apt-cache pkginfo n900-fmrx-enabler
See available versions:
Code:
Provides:
1.5-4+0m5 -
1.5-1+0m5 -
1.5-1 -
1.2 -
then just
Code:
apt-get install n900-fmrx-enabler=1.5-1+0m5
You need to be root.

does this solves the microphone problem? I can see the qradio always plays fm, except if it stops then I have to reinsert jack, but have the same microphone bug.

This fixes a "no sound" problem with the fmradio app (not qradio) after PR1.3 release

For me, the problem appears to be a bug somewhere between the radio apps (fm radio, qradio, C FM Radio, etc.) and those apps that shutdown the Bluetooth service to save power (longpress, savepress, Advanced Interface Switcher, etc.). FM Radio gets confused when the state of the bluetooth service changes while it is active.

Check if you can start the FM Radio immediately after a reboot. then check again after you have stopped and started the bluetooth service (say with Advanced Interface Switcher).

I can get the radio working again if I:
turn off the bluetooth service with Advanced Interface Switcher and wait 2 seconds
turn on the bluetooth service with Advanced Interface Switcher and wait 2 seconds
start FM Radio (or whichever app you are using)

There also seems to be a problem with the 2010.03.60 build so I am using the earlier 2010.03.20 build.

|Off topic| Is there a way to force the radio to always play in stereo? When I tune to a station with clear reception I hear stereo OK. Right after I tune to a frequency with poor reception, I can hear it stereo for just a flash of a second then it goes back to mono. I want it to play in stereo all the time, no matter how bad is the reception and not for a flash of second. I have no problem to hear an extra wide-static noise - a reasonable price for me. In Qt mobile there is an X-terminal method ctrl+D should force stereo. Can the FM radio application be optimize in a similar way?

"FM Radio" from Ovi store is closed source I think. There are several other FM radio projects around, like QRadio... Have a look at them

PS: Opening an new thread for this may had been a good idea

Yes, I'm willing to do this!
I'm OK with the current radio apps around. All I want is to hear stereo no matter how reception is bad. Switching directly from a strong reception frequency to a weaker one gives me a half-second of it.

Hi all,

Resurrecting an old thread but a new problem that I've encountered.

I have searched and looked at the following without any resolution:
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9792
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=55710
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=64379

I have performed all the operations above and countless installs, reinstalls, reboots etc. I have even gone as far as removing FM-CarKit. The only things I haven't done is reflash or uninstall KP49.

FM Radio as far as I known has always worked since my first install after PR1.3. The only significant change as since then is installation of KP49 and FM-Carkit.

FM Radio launches fine. Without my earphone in, the ribbon appears requesting I insert earphones. When I do insert it, ribbon appears saying bluetooth set on. Also appearing is Error: Cannot load FM radio driver module. If earphone is in prior to launching, the latter 2 ribbons appear.

I have tried installing other radio fm apps qradio, cfmradio but to no avail.

I'm heading to the F1 in a few weeks time and would really like some sort of resolution so that I can listen to the broadcasted commentary.

Can some kind community member assist? Provide some means of debugging what is going on or conflicting?

Cheers,
Fred
