Hello,

Not sure if this is the right area or if what im looking for is possible. However we all know of the process of a phone being a WiFi hotspot for another WiFi phone.

What I want to know is if it is possible to have my N900 connected via WiFi and have a non WiFi phone that only has normal connection methods connect to the N900.

So I suppose the N900 would be a modem in this case for the other phone ?

is this possible, is there an app for that

I know i will have to configure the other phone which is a Samsung Pixon by the way just incase someone has it and N900 and wants to try.

Any ideas ?

P.S : Im not remotely proficient in Xterm and Linux lingo so forgive me if i say something stupid.

Don't wanna burst your bubble, but I think you won't be able to do so sans WiFi in that samsung. That samsung can only connect to the internet via a provider, that should be the way to go if you use it frequently. But a contract for data would be advised.

Maybe with a cable though but seems pretty much impossible to me.

Well thats what im not sure, technically I can put in my own access point into the Samsung including things like DNS/IP settings so I would have thought It could be done.

This is more of an experiment than anything else, basically the Sammy is my wife's phone and while we are in the house it would be nice for her to be able to have access to her mail etc via the phone.

Thanks for the input
