Depends on what exactly the .db is. In the context of the N900, files with the db extension could be:
- a Berkeley DB - not sure whether there are any client programs available on N900
- sqlite DB - use sqlite
- or maybe even something else

but for the case of N900, "most of them" are sqlite3 format
