Hi!

I was just wondering, when the N900 finally fails, can we salvage the 32Gb or use the N900 as an external drive device?

I think the boot loader can make the MyDocs partition get read as a USB drive even when the device is completely powered off...

Basically, so long as the part that initializes that function of the hardware still works, yes. Unless you wanna get really hack-y, open the entire thing up, and take the hardware out by itself... Can't even begin to suggest how to go from there.

Thanks! I was just thinking there are so many good parts in the N900 (it's supposed to be a premium phone right?).

If the phone failed, we could still use it for multimedia (video, MP3)?
If the display/speaker failed, we could use it for external drive?

Provided the frail micro USB remains intact!
