I don't know why, but more and more often, Sygic crashes unexpectedly.

It crashed when I open the application, after a few seconds. If it doesn't, it crashes when it compiles a route.

I don't know why, can someone help?

Sorry mate, I have the same exact problem, MM10 just not finding the signal (after about 5 mins). Open Ovi Maps, under a minute and I'm on. I have emailed Sygic, hopefully I'll get a reasonable response and will post here.

It's pretty annoying, the app works well, when it works. And it's worked well for a while now, but this evening I could not get it together. It just crashed either immediately after start or when it tried routing. I really hate it ! And the worst part is, there's not alternative to it !

I still also have the same crash issues as well. I have tried to find a pattern to the crashes but have not seen one yet. I really wish it was solved soon though. At least once it crashes, it syncs back up and continues automatically right away once re started.

I've reported the crash problem tothe support and they told me to disable sound and/or set the energy saving to "default" in the option.

And it works, sygic only crashed one time in 3 week (instead of 1 time in 2 hours)

...but a gps without voice guidance and which turn black once the phone is fully charged is not very usefull ...

They (sygic) told me that they could not reproduce the problem and would not send me a patched version because their phones never crash.

It seems by reading the post that I'm not the only one and if they know that disabling the sound/energy saving make the application more reliable, they MUST be knowing the problem. And I'm not going to be a paying beta tester again when I will switch to meego/android.

Mine crashed frequently too. Then it started taking me down b roads and single track lanes and almost stranded me in the middle of nowhere as it just stopped tracking. I now use paper maps again and life is a lot easier.

One other thing that annoys me is how difficult it is to close the application. despite a recent update saying the exit button had moved it is still on a second screen I just want one button to turn it off, I do not want to be scrolling screens and having to take my eyes off the road for any length of time.

Is Sygic Aura coming to N900?

They said it would, but I really doubt they'll keep their promise. Aura is probably going directly to MeeGo. But maybe it could be backported to N900, if Aura will be built around Qt.

Well I faced the same crash problems with sygic, I realize it was the overclocked (and undervolted) kernel.
I tried with different configs on kernel-power and it seems that there is no enough power for sygic and the gps module if the value is under 60 for 600 mhz and above.
Please check these threads for more info about kernel-power:

    http://wiki.maemo.org/Overclocking#J..._for_Newcomers

    http://wiki.maemo.org/Kernel_Power

So changing the values on my config for kernel-power and no more hangs with Sygic.

    Hope it helps!
