now that there are so many unanswered questions regarding the Nokia/MS deal, i think it's time to start some conspiracy theories
And here comes mine: the evil plan by Nokia and Google to finish off Microsoft!
We all know that Nokia likes open source and that they like Linux. They made Symbian open source, qt already is, MeeGo too, and MeeGo is Linux. But since last Friday everything seem so weird! Symbian gets killed, MeeGo almost gets killed and Nokia switches to Windows Phone, the opposite of open source and Linux.
Now we know that Nokia also talked with Google- and they made a plan that MS will not like!
Like Symbian/qt/MeeGo, Android is also open source and some kind of Linux. So it seems logical that this is an approach Nokia obviously would prefer over Windows Phone. But why didn't they do it? Google also knows that Android in it's current form is not built for eternity. The Linux base is ok, but it can only run Java application in a virtual machine and in the years to come and with the evolution of smartphones a real Linux would be needed- just like MeeGo! Now that Android conquers the market right now, it would be insane that Google kills Android in the near future and go together with Nokia (and Intel) developing MeeGo. But it would be nice to get Linux to the masses and get rid of the rival Microsoft! So Nokia and Google decided that Nokia signs a contract with MS using WP as their primary platform and kill Symbian so there are no doubts in Redmond that Nokia is serious about the deal. Mind you, they kill Symbian, still the most used mobile OS and put all eggs in one basket- WP7, a mobile OS that since its start last quarter was more a failure then a success! Microsoft feels sure that Nokia is on their side. For Nokia this admission is not so critical. They already know by themselves that Symbian needs a successor and they have no chance against Android and iOS in the coming months. But where does MeeGo come into play? Its almost ready but not to irritate MS, Nokia also drives back this development. But remember it IS ready!
In a year from now, right before the first Nokia Windows Phones would start and all other WP supporting companies stepped back from the MS system, Nokia and Google drop the bombshell! They will work together to get real Linux to the mobile market. They will use MeeGo as their main platform and Google uses Alien Dalvik to keep compatibility to current Android. Nokia starts with the N9-02, a phone Microsoft thought would only be for future disruption research. And MS? Would be out of the game! Ha ha!
Please feel free to post your own conspiracy theory. I'm curious about it.
