It's probably owned by 'root'. Check the file permissions in the in the terminal ('ls -l').

The files you are trying to delete are located in the default MyDocs folder?

If yes, this is a known bug, the phone suddenly doesn't let you save/overwrite/delete files and returns you the "Read only" error.

This bug is commonly reproduced when you are transferring a file from your computer to your phone and it gets interrupted, thus corrupting the memory, also if you were unzipping/unraring a file and it crashed.

A reboot (or several reboots) can fix the problem, if that does not fix it, try connecting your phone to a computer via USB and go Mass Storage mode, then disconnect and reboot.

Try to fix the file system with the appropriate tool.

You need rootsh installed for that to work
    Code:
    sudo gainroot
    umount /dev/mmcblk0p1
    fsck -af /dev/mmcblk0p1
    mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /home/user/MyDocs
Please post any errors you get here.
