I tried Evince from extras-devel to see if I could copy text from it. Unfortunately, you can't. However, it has some niceties that may make it a keeper.

Default PDF Reader is Open Source so hopefully it could be improved.

Two features that should have been implemented a long time ago are bookmarking and portrait mode.....then it would be enjoyable to use.

Add this:

- Fit to screen.
- Swipe gesture for Zoom/Unzoom.

I used it the other day and couldn't figure out how to jump to a certain page.

The OS2008 version could do this, so the code is probably there to allow it - qwerty just didn't make any additional improvements after the first release.

Interesting. So this is an orphan project. It would be great if someone adopted it and added the text copy feature.

Howto copy text (n900 evince version 2.28.2)

press Ctrl + , (toggle edit mode on/off)

mark text to copy and press Ctrl + c and paste with Ctrl + v

Also for page index selection, press Ctrl + z
