I would also like this. I use skype for all of my calls.

Cool Re: N900: Telephone app -- "Call type: Cellular" even without SIM (but with SIP account)

1. Rename /usr/share/osso-rtcom/tel.profile to telx.profile
2. Edit /home/user/.rtcom-accounts/accounts.cfg
2a. Change [ring/tel/ring] to [ring/telx/ring]
2b. Change Profile=tel (in this section only!) to Profile=telx
3. Restart Maemo

Voila! Don't forget to Thank me for this post.

This didn't work for me, and instead created two cellular entries.
EDIT: This *did* work. My mistake was copying and not renaming the old tel entry. oops.

^bump

I followed the above instructions not realizing they were Skype specific. Are there similar changes I could make to get call type to default to SIP? Preferably it would be nice to still be able to change to other types of calls, but just have the default when launching the phone be SIP.

Hello. I'd like to second dylanemcgregor's request for some elaboration on Luke-Jr's solution. How does renaming the 'tel' profile to 'telx' and changing a couple of lines in accounts.cfg from 'tel' to 'telx' switch the default call type to skype? I've had a look at those configuration files, but I just don't get it.

In my case, I'm interested in making calls by default from my google voice number. Thanks for any suggestions!

Bumping...

I managed to 'take away' the mobile call just renaming file /usr/share/osso-rtcom/tel.profile to /usr/share/osso-rtcom/telx.profile and not executing the other steps.

The catch is that the mobile call option dissapears, so this is not usefull if you still want to make mobile calls.

Regards.
