Link was in my post you just quoted

The apt-get install --reinstall hildon-home works, but you first need to run "apt-get udpate" to refresh the catalogs. Updated my post above...

If you mean the boxes behind application shortcuts @ desktop; you can still disable those using Theme Customizer.

It obviously looks very bad (it's a concept).
I'll start a thread for it when it's ready, just mentioned it since I remember it was asked about.
MohammadAG it was me who asked, any thoughts on just copying the 5800 slide to answer?

My only concern thinking more about it is that the H-D seems to freeze sometimes when trying to answer a call, due I assume to having so many apps running and a call is just too much for the CPU, I therefore just wonder if the "slide to answer" would cause even more freezing/missed calls?

However if you can get it to work OK then I am sure there would be loads of happy N900 users/ alot less missed calls.

Aah.. true, the hide -function also is implemented in the modified hildon-home which usually comes with Theme Customizer

But you could use the "widget transparency" setting and set that to zero. It will make other widgets transparent aswell though :-/

Edit: but if you don't use the 9 desktops, you can run this command to enable all functions back to life @ Theme Customizer:
Code:
sudo gainroot
cp -rf /usr/bin/hildon-home.launch666 /usr/bin/hildon-home.launch
Then run the Customizer once or reboot
