Then just add the line I given to you, by the way, after you install SSU, I think there are the line there, don't understand you don't have, have you install SSU properly......?
to the bottom of transitions.ini located in /usr/share/hildon-desktop and in XTerminal, type killall hildon-desktop and see if, with the keyboard closed, does for example, Settings, rotate to portrait?
If not, I suspect that you didn't get CSSU installed.

my settings work,so does app man and apps page, but not contacts and conversation or sms or hotmail....
next i suggest using an ssh client on a desktop computer to simplify this:
navigate to /usr/share/hildon-desktop
open transitions.ini
scroll to the bottom and make the appropriate changes which can be found in the wiki.
if you are using theme customizer you must copy your modified transitions.ini from /usr/share/hildon-desktop to your theme's folder. alternatively you may also system link it.
To the people updating the Portrait Mode-page in Wiki : good work so far, I'd like to assist but can't since I'm not willing to re-flash my N900 for now. However, I have a minor suggestion for 3rd party-applications. Add versions to the list.
This way the compatibility could be updated as time goes and everyone would be able to check the compatible version (e.g. -Devel, version 0.0.1).
