I'm not a linux guru, or even an old hand at open source.
Just wanted to do my bit after owning a N900 for a year plus and basically using this awesome forum to meet my tech needs.
I just pushed Meego as a netbook os to my IT supplier and they are very interested in using Meego in the netbooks they sell. a small move on my part, but got me thinking.. if everyone of us made a similar move, talking to the people immediately around us about the beauty of linux as an os of choice (meego is as simple as windows to use with a very easy learning curve), it would seriously impact the quantum of usage of Meego as an os when compared with wp7. dare i say even a threat to android.

The bad thing with MeeGo netbook for now is it's available only for newer processors. It's quite a showstopper. Linux used to work wonders for not-so-recent hardware, but MeeGo images are quite fussy to need Atom.

although this may work for small, private and local shops, getting an actual big budget shops interested won't be as easy, and if they're not selling in the large business shops, chances are no one but the kids or techsavy people here will buy them so no one else but a few will be influenced to get one
