Oh boy have I a problem. Did I say "a". No, I meant many! Any suggestions would be much obliged as I'm not sure about the legitimacy of the warranty.
Took phone on a trip down to good old rosebud with gps and cheap car charger (deal xtreme one). Sometimes the charger works sometimes it doesn't – so I played around with it a few times. Anyway the battery went dead as I was driving. Tried turning device back on it simply wouldn't load. Got home, put charger in. Boots up but fails (ie really low battery). No problems. Leave it for a while and it seems solid enough charging happily. Then after say 6/7 mins it would die and reboot again as if there was no battery. It then pretty much did this sequentially. So I try to turn the device on. No luck. No lights at all. But when I plug it in it comes up solid yellow. Ok I thinks. Check battery. Notice that the negative terminal had become a bit loose so when I pushed the battery a bit to the left it comes on fine. Boots up fine. Then I try the keyboard. No good. Keys to the left of the keyboard don't work ie (control, fn, shift, z, x, c) and some keys to the right don't work either. When I press q it actually comes up as qt (so software I thinks – I mean qt – surely not coincidence). Then the thing dies on me saying "Malfunction Autoshutdown in 10s". I thought it might have just been the voltage from the battery or whatever. Still doesn't explain the keyboard but thought it might have just corrupted the OS with the battery dieing randomly. So reflash the device. No good. Same problems. Do full reflash (emmc as well). Same thing. Keyboard is still screwy and everytime the backlight goes off – either by the time delay or the locker switch – I get the malfunction auto shutdown in 10s notification on the nokia boot screen. That is (I think), unless I have it connected to a charger in which case I can turn the screen off and it doesn't crash. Don't have the charger with me so can't confirm this. Any ideas at all? It might be bye bye nokia after many years =(
Thanks.
