Phone, messaging, reading e-books, browsing, listening to music, watching sitcoms and Family Guy, taking pictures, using it as my 3G modem, playing games and doing whatever it can does
I'm 18, self-employed and student. I use my N900 for the following:
Chatting/texting in bed with friends
Music when I go outside
GPS when I get lost ouside (which happens often since I moved into my own appartment in a new area)
xchat for IRC when I get bored somewhere
Browsing the web (mainly reddit) and checking emails on the go
Reading books with the pdf reader
Messing around with python
Taking pictures, lots of them, the camera on this is actually really decent
Light game playing (angry birds, emulators)
Some phone calling...
Alarm clocks daily
It's pretty much my all-in-one mobile device, it replaced my ipod, phone, etc and with an extra battery for it I never need to worry about running out of juice whatever I do
Mainly using mine as a pocket internet tablet more than a phone now (Company N8 for that), but originally my N900 did it all for me when I was self-employed last year.
The N900 is the far more capable of the two devices in most respects, but ultimately loses out on battery life and telephony.
For me, the N900 is still unbeatable and, thanks to the ingenuity and hard work of other (ahem) younger N900 enthusiasts than me, keeps on getting better.
I can't believe I nearly gave up on this nearly 12 months ago...
