is your n900 bluetooth settings set to 'hidden'? do you have an app that turns off bluetooth after a period of non use? also i noticed that with wireless, the n900 stops listening automatically after a period of non use until the n900 needs to send packets outwards. i suggest you get that desktop widget that allows you to quickly turn your bluetooth on and off and experiment with that..
