Does anybody know if Maemo 5 will run on the Nook Color ereader tablet? If so, has anybody ported Maemo to it yet?

Thanks

A nook color running maemo would be pretty amazing, I really dislike Android

Maemo, unfortunately, can't be said to run on anything but the N900. This is due to the numerous closed components in the OS that impair the ability to port it to other platforms.

However, Cordia comes pretty close to bringing the Maemo environment to MeeGo, and MeeGo can be made (with, of course, proper video drivers) to run on almost any platform.

I very much agree. Nook color has good hardware spec and build. However, the underlying Android (eclaire) detracts from the overall experience. Also Froyo and Gingerbread not much better, while the CPU demands of Honeycomb are too much.

Thank you . This is very helpful.

I hope Nook color becomes a target hack/platform for Meego.
