question: what is the difference between nitdroid and gingerbread (android 2.3) and is there a updated readme of what function nitdroid is still missing?
uninstalling nitdroid from the EMMC would be
sudo mount -o bind /home /and && sudo aptitude remove nitdroid-kernel && sudo rm -r /home/{acct,bin,cache,config,data,default.prop,dev,etc,i nit,init.nokia.rc,init.rc,initrd,lib,mnt,opt,proc, sbin,sdcard,sys,system,tmp,usr}
Mountig is not really necessary for removing.
Also we do not have aptitude on the N900, but apt-get.
if u delete the opt file u lose all ur maemo programs
Thats right.

NO, this will remove all Your Maemo programs/settings.
Uninstallation guide You will find on the wiki page (link in first post).
Here are the listings of 'empty' home directory and filled with nitdroid files. And a corrected remove script (not yet tested!).

I have the same question If anyone help us, it would be grateful. Thanks!
Hi just wanted to share: I made a video tutorial of the install instructions. It's actually for personal use but I thought it might help others too. I initially posted here: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...5&postcount=12
what i know is that nitdroid (android 2.2 or froyo) which is more stable and less laggy than 2.3 (which is gingerbread).so if u want to install applications they would be more stable in 2.2
