I've used xplanet as a kinda 'live' wallpaper for years on Linux, usually in random mode with cloud maps. Never get tired of it. Thought it would be nice to do the same on my N900 so installed the xplanet package.

It runs, but not as a background replacement. I can get a peek at it, like for instance if I open Conky. But I can't figure out how to replace the usual background with xplanet.

Anyone got an idea? I can't be the only one using xplanet.

Ah, finally a use case for my "live wallpaper"
- started xplanet with parameter "-window" and custom cloud map.
- xprop -name "Xplanet 1.2.1" -f _HILDON_LIVE_DESKTOP_BACKGROUND 32i -set _HILDON_LIVE_DESKTOP_BACKGROUND -1
