The cutoff "Web address" entry is:

I'm very impressed with this version; Gotta love opening new tabs in the background. Now we just need copy-and-paste...
Okay, i was putting my repos together, making install files. Now i totally do not understand.
I have two catalogues:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.o...le/repos/1.9.2
that is the nightly builds
and this one
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile
now You show up here with this one:
http://moff.mozilla.com/latest-beta/maemo/multi/
Can smbd tell me the difference between all of them?

The post time of all seems to be the same, 18th March, 2:33, so I am guessing they are the same thing, just messed up maintenance (it is an open source proj)..

Your first two look like nightly builds. The last one is a release build. Use the last one.

Thanks, but i actually will use the first one, cause I ain't going to use it as a default browser. Opera+microB are for me for now. Thanks one more time for making everyting clearer.

1.9.2 tree are not the current nightly builds. they are from abandoned 2.x version

goto

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/repos/

and use the trunk_your country

trunk_en-US is always most up to date.

Ok I found the ultimate way to get it work really fast.. go to about:config, search for memory.. there you will see a cache size setting with 1024, make it 1024000, and restart.. works as good as microb now

People think they're installing 4.0, but get 1.1

If you think 4.0 is just as slow as it was before, double check your version. FF4 is easily 4 to 6 times as fast as it was before, and is (finally) a hair faster than the built-in Micro browser. There are plugins to handle opening links in tabs (in the background) by simply doing long-taps.

My only guess here is that they "tested" this by disabling other repositories (including the OVI repository). They also have an issue in that their key was updated recently, and isn't on the standard repository ring, AND they're using a compressed Package file, and offer no uncompressed version in their manifest. The later only affects those of us using an older apt manager, but that's a lot of people still.

I searched for a link to tell them about this, but there was no clear contact information or feedback link, on their site or in the repository settings (manager info is blank). The best way to get it for now is to use wget (you may have to install wget with apt-get install wget first) and then use dpkg to install it locally.

If you didn't use wget and/or dpkg, you very likely do NOT have FF4 installed.

Can the OP post that in post 1 please via an edit? It would make life a LOT easier here.
I gotta say there could be truth to this. I have been using all the FF4 betas and absent mindedly enabled Ovi repository once and was using 1.1 for a week before I realised it was this version. The RC is not as unusable as some make out, it can be tweaked to bring it up to speed and there's hope in there as some of the features are great and after a few minutes of running, the page rendering is very quick and up to the speed of Opera 11 and MicroB. I still think all round though, that Opera 11 has trumped the rest about now. It's speed plus easy reading is great, I don't really care for flash much so that's not a major issue.

Anyway I was able to install it manually:

sudo gainroot
wget http://moff.mozilla.com/latest-beta/..._4.0_armel.deb
dpkg --install fennec_4.0_armel.deb
/bin/sh: wget: not found

Does this mean that wget is not on my N900 ?
