ffmpeg is commandline so Application Manager will not show it even though it is in extras.
in xterm:
root
apt-get install ffmpeg

I thought the ffmpeg version on the N900 was a little crippled. Hence no support for mp3 audio and a few other formats (forgot which ones but Mp3 is a definit as I wanted to convert videos to audio only). Making video conversion limited. Correct me if I'm wrong or missed something
