Is this project still alive after all the goings on at Nokia?
I just wondered if it is possible to just buy a year or two old iPhone or HTC phone or something and put Maemo on it?
Also, does this still exist as a Gnomish project or did the Meego project mean its all Qt and the like now?
Just interested to know if I can install this over an iPhone as I would Fedora over my Macbook Pro

Are there any handsets it can be installed on or does it only work on that N900?
Since Nokia won't be supporting it any more? What handset's does the OS have a future on?

The Maemo OS on the N900 can only ever be used on the N900 and will never work on any other device simply because Nokia designed the Maemo os specificaly with specific hardware adaptation the N900 has.
Okay, so its just being supported for a while for N900 and then will go the way of the Dodo?

Maemo is also the default O/S on the N770, N800 and N810.
It's not really being officially supported by Nokia any more. But loads of great support from the community here. I'm not planning to stop using it anytime soon...

I wonder though if this community can get its teamwork together, the amount of work being done is somewhat collosal given they are working with no support at all from Nokia, maybe in the future it could pave the way for adaption to any device.... food for thought i guess.

I suppose that's what I was getting at, might it have a future as a community project, akin to a "Gnome Mobile".
I know there was a Gnome Mobile effort at one point, but afaik it's dead or as good as.
Seems a shame that there was this, and OpenHand and lots of other stuff happening, and then suddenly it's all dead and goes to waste.
I just wondered if it is possible to just buy a year or two old iPhone or HTC phone or something and put Maemo on it?
Also, does this still exist as a Gnomish project or did the Meego project mean its all Qt and the like now?
