it't my first post on this forum, since i used it a lot !
I have read a lot of interesting and helpful tech things.
I think now it's my time to contribute a little
So it's about saving/syncing PIM. I tried ermminig, memotoo, funambol, Ubuntu1, bash scripts, so a lot of time my friend !
The result was always uncertain, sometimes it works sometimes not, sometimes free but with nonsense limits and sometime the contacts were ok, but not other PIM, sometime the sync is made, but you can't see it ( U1 ), i know it's gonna change but i keep frustrated about it ...
And this evening, while playing with the syncevoluion-ui in ubuntu i discovered something giving me a deep smile ). The Mobical syncML service changed for a new name : Everdroid ( i was afraid it was something specialised with android, fortunately it happens not ).
After installing syncevolution on my phone, and add the everdroid service, i needed to manually edit it ... and after 2 small errors, it made the job.
- the first error was the N900 connection switch to my wifi hub, loosing it's 3G web connection. no pb
- the second one, concern the sync type ( required for each type of PIM, contacts, calendar, task, notes ... etc ). I issued this with the slow sync option and it WORKED !
everything is now saved and ready to sync at Everdroid, and best of all it's free
if you need / search a good PIM sync i really engage you to give it a try,
