been having this strange problem lately.

the default photo viewer on the n900 doesn't show any photos.

if i navigate to 'filter by folder' and specify the N900\camera folder, then it shows the photos, but i can't save this configuration. it always defaults back to 'all images', so when i open the program next (too see my photo) or when i try to navigate to the photo viewer from the camera program after taking a picture, there's nothing there and i have to navigate to 'n900\camera' again.

not a huge problem, but i'd love a fix if someone has some insight into what's going on.

Have you used the tracker-cfg app? Or modified the ~/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg file to exclude stuff from media player/image viewer etc?

You could try to reset tracker database (in xterm):

tracker-processes -r

(This will kill all Tracker processes and remove all databases, and
it may take a while (10-15) minutes until tracker rebuilds the
databases)

type that code in xterminal and then open media player.

Hey there,

Sorry for digging this thread, just have similar problem as topic starter - gallery can't find photos, only if choose manually camera folder.

Any suggestions how to fix this problem? tracker-processes -r ain't working for me...

I had the same. Try to add /home/user/MyDocs/DCIM/ to WatchDirectoryRoots in /home/user/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg and rebuild database.
