I would just like to confirm that tzsm98's thorough post is absolutely correct.
I was unsure about the whole fremantle-1.2 setting in distribution field, but it makes sense that being tested, it would be done on the newest version anyway.
I just used tzsm98's setting (same as I used pre-PR1.2), and I got the Yellow Update square in the status area, which we love to see. There were 5 3rd Party updates available as soon as I enabled the new registries.
So follow tzsm98's info.... if it doesn't work, you did it wrong.
I even did a reverse dns lookup on repository.maemo.org and used the ip address - which also failes on the N900, but works on the laptop.
Every other repository works. Just extras-devel which holds a few apps that I want on my N900 because I had them before updating it to PR1.2
There must be someone who has half an idea what's going on here? Is it an "undocumented feature" in PR1.2 to stop us from using extras-devel????!! A bit of a D.O.S. job!

FWIW, I'm having issues too connecting with Extra-Devel and now some other repositories...didn't have problems like this before upgrading to PR1.2....
