There are a few applications I haven't been able to install in Nitdroid. For example the game SliceIt and the newest Youtube, they always give me an error installing. Any clue?

Is the battery management fixed? Can I charge it once a day and use it? Phone/Camera is fine as I can manage with my old n70.

You really make me feel like I am missing out by chickening out and not installing nitdroid
Allow me to stop you there bro. Battery reporting isn't battery management. As a matter of fact, your N900 would not upstart with no bme. What's broken in Nitdroid is battery reporting, that is, the tiny little battery icon on top that reports how much charge is left. Guess what? This got already fixed on N11. "Can I charge it once a day..." What?! Can you charge your phone in Nitdroid? What was the last version you tested, 0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.1?
Android uses alsamixer. We use pulseaudio. Calls work, I called my dead great great grand father using Nitdroid, but audio isn't routed to the mic.

Hey thanks for trying to clarify the battery issue.

You misunderstood me. I read somewhere (or I believe I read somewhere) that battery gets used up very very fast in nitdroid and that it will last you only for around 4-5 hours. What I wanted to know was that whether a full charge can last for around 22 hours (which is what I get in maemo)

I know about sms and call routing working. But without audio, I suppose its a moot point. And I'm not on such friendly terms with my dead relatives to just call them one fine morning :P

But as I said, I have a backup device and sim to manage calls.

Ohkay... I am on a week on N900 discovery and adventure! I just ordered a female-to-female usb adapter from ebay to try out the host mode. Looks like I will be playing with nitdroid as soon as 0.11 stable is released !!!
(or would you suggest going with gingerbread itself??)

Battery lasts very fine! After you underclock your cpu in Nitdroid to 250MHz it will be very much identical to that of maemo!
And BTW, good luck with that, and happy discovering!

I suggest trying N11 out. I am going to tell you, frankly, it is fu**ing AWESOME!!! PM E-yes, beg him and he sure will respond .
Or you might as well try Nitdroid froyo 0.0.9, it is froyo, but it is the coolest most featured froyo out there.

See, this sign > means cooler.
0.0.9 > 0.0.8 or older builds of froyo
0.0.9 is also > gingerbread
BUT
N11 > 0.0.9, Gbread, 0.0.8 and everything else!
Ranking:
1. N11
2. 0.0.9
3. Gbread
4. 0.0.8

This. I wont be using nitroid until it supports calls. Not much point in using it if I cant use it as a phone.

@ammyt, love your Nitdroid ranking system!!
Already Pm-ed e-yes asking to add me to the list. Its a waiting game now. BTW, same installation instructions from wiki can be applied to 0.11 right? And how much space would I need to free up in emmc?

I love your nitdroid related enthusiasm dude, and am thankful for it.

Approximately 120MBs, not really much. Yep same installation as any version but just replace the nitdroid archive name to the new archive name.
