Does anyone know how to get either the root or user passwords for the 810? I have tried the "rootme" mentioned for earlier models without success.

In local shell need packet becomeroot (as in 800). If you can get access out from (by ssh) - you need check enables root login by
sudo gainroot
vipw
and look symbol '!' after 'root:'

Install an app called "becomeroot". Then open Xterm and type "sudo gainroot"

Hmm got some problem here:
Everytime I want to start "sudo gainroot" on my N800 OS2008 it tells me I have to "change to R&D Mode to break my device".

You can also while in R&D mode changed the root passwd then disabled R&D mode. Install openssh, then either "
ssh localhost -l root
" on the ITT or "
ssh <ip>
" remotely.

If I can change the root-password, why can't I use "sudo bash" to gain root access? currently "sudo bash" prompts me to enter the root-password.
btw: how to change the root password on maemo?
