    Rename downloaded Applications

    Hi! Can I rename downloaded apps? Either the programm itself or the link in the menu?

    For example, I dont want gPodder or DrNokSNES to be named as they are, but rename them to "Podcasts" and "SNES".

    Is this possible?

    I think you have to edit the application_name.desktop file in /usr/share/applications/hildon

    Change the line "Name=...." to whatever you like.

    Edit: This only changes the name in the menu, to change the window name you probably have to edit the source and recompile.

    Will this change stick if you later install an updated version of the app, I wonder?

    thanks for the info, was trying to rename 2 angry birds apps in menu where one is maemo and another in webos, both using same name is very confusing :-D
