Hi guys,

Since a week or so ago my N900 can no longer access the internet through data roaming on the Three network (UK).

It connects, but then when you try to access anything the signal logo flickers from 3G to 3.5G then disconnects. After this it tries to reconnect and repeats.

Does anyone else use their N900 with the Three network? I've been using it fine for the past year, it's just suddenly stopped working.

I've reflashed my FIASCO and eMMC and it still happends!

Therefore it must be an issue at Three's end? right?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Phil

Yup, same problem, although I can very rarely connect over 3G, and rarely over 2G - so I can't make or receive calls or texts as well. I tried reflashing but no difference. I tried a Voda SIM in my phone and it worked fine. This happened after around 8pm on Friday 15th April.

Nokia says it's Three's problem, Three say they won't support the N900. I'm waiting for a response from Three but it looks like I (and anyone else with an N900 on Three) is going to have to switch providers

I went into the 3store last week and he mentioned that it may be because 3 is now disabling 2g accross their coverage. Which i personally think is mental!!

The problem I have is that i can only get a 2g signal in my house, so i can no longer use my 3 sim (i'm got an o2 pay as you go card now). I tried ringing 3 customer service (in a far far away land) and they won't allow me to terminate my contract early without paying the rest. it's totally ridiculous!

I wonder if it will be the same reason for you. Do you get a bad signal where you are?

Well I'm going to tell them that they've breached their contract to supply me with service & I'll be cancelling my direct debit. I may have to change my phone number but I'm not paying money for nothing.

I'm on 3 and have found I now have no 2g, and when trying to access data I sometimes have to switch off the phone signal and then back on again to get it to connect...If it keeps up for much longer I will definately be switching provider.
And to Plantpotphil, you can absolutely cancel your contract as their service to you has changed and is "no longer fit for purpose"..my girlfriend is a solicitor specialising in consumer rights.
Tell them you have taken legal advice and will be cancelling your direct debit, and that if they affect your credit rating you will take them to court.

Huh, and today (possibly earlier, hadn't bothered checking) my phone seems to be back in action: able to send/receive calls and texts. I'll report back if it reverts, but I suspect Three made changes their end.
