i can confirm that extra,extra-devel,extra testing & community testing repo is down at this moment.....
i have been try updating tru HAM,FAM & x-term...all give the same error...

I updated repos at least three times today and there was no error. Last update 1 hour ago from now (see timestamp of posting).

well, we have updated multiple times ourselves over different connections. it has been failing us since the last few hours. so something somewhere could possibly be broken! after all we don't get the same IP around the world, right?

Right, but it indicates that the repos aren't down themselves but some connections to the server might be broken.

Ok. I've been investigating this a bit now, I don't think it's a repo problem. I ran a bunch of pings to repository.maemo.org from n900 and from a Ubuntu machine on the same network. The Ubuntu machine was able to ping, but the n900 isn't able to.
I also tried google.com and yahoo.com and it still didn't work.

I eventually turned off wifi and started using my data plan. Surprisingly enough that seems to be working now!

This is strange because my sip calls and skype all worked on wifi.

Same problem here, apt-get update fails in extras, extras-devel and extras-testing. Same error when trying to get Packages file in a browser in a Arch system in the same network.

Try manually changing setting your DNS servers to the Google ones as explained by Rob1n here

It`s still down...couldn`t update maemo extras,extras-testing and extras-devel using Hildon Ap.manager,Faster Ap.manager&X-Terminal during the whole day long....something somewhere must got wrong.Hope it will be fixed soon...
P.S

oes someone know what happened with SiB player,cause itsno longer availlable.Can someone tell me to which repository belongs?
