Hi Friends,

Tried today and got the same problem. Did a quick search and found out that this is not the first time it happened, just an FYI: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=40904

EDIT: just a disclaimer, by "it" I meant having the "Unauthorized IP" problem...not to be confused with me making a sure statement that the root cause is the same as what's on the link I gave.

Hi Folks,

I am facing the same problem since today morning.
I can ping http://repository.maemo.org/ from x-term but got the error when try apt-get update, Faster App Manager and the default App Manager.

Probably some routers were blacklisted by the repository server.
Any ideas

I just ran apt-get update and upgrade again with no problem again.

So my theory is that somewhere out in internetland someone is rejecting a bunch of legitimate ips and sending back this message. Seems like someone will find out where the message is really coming from. Sometimes this kind of thing happens when someone is trying to defend himself from spam. I'm not sure how to track down the originator of the problem.

Edit with an off-the-wall idea. I wonder if using Tor would help people with this problem by disguising your true ip?
