I've dpkg -x'ed all the debs at http://www.indt.org.br/10le/manaos/, but I get a segfault when I try to run Manaos (either from the installed menu icon or via the run-manaos.sh script).

Has anyone gotten Manaos to run on the Nokia 770 device itself (i.e. not within a scratchbox setup)? I'm very interested in seeing how it will compare to the Nokia 770's default browser (with respect to both memory and rendering).

I tried gpe-mini-browser, but found it to be extremely limited in that it doesn't work at all with many of the sites I visit (e.g. Customized Google Home Page, Google Mail).

We got it working again. Check http://tonikitoo.blogspot.com/2006/0...11-is-out.html out ...

Actually, it was in standby since of June 2005, because of no time in the meanwhile. But, at least, monthly releases are expected

Downloading any of the debs directly on the 770 and installing results in an error of "Component is built in".

Yep.. those .deb packages are not created correctly. The "control" file is missing "Depends: maemo". Those should be fixed.

Thanks for the update, toni. However, even after fixing the .debs to install cleanly into /var/lib/install, I still get the same segfault:

Code:
/ $ run-standalone.sh run-manaos.sh
osso_initialize() WARNING: if the system bus activated this program, Libosso does not connect to the session bus!
No History file to read!
Segmentation fault
What am Idoing wrong? Do I need a "History file"?

guys, for instance, I've post a mini how to get it installed at http://tonikitoo.blogspot.com/2006/0...er-011-rc.html

0.2 fixes many of this installing problems, like

** no root required
** targeting at /var/lib/install instead of directly at /usr/lib
** no history-crash at launching
