Engadget just used to video to make a cheap negative shot at Meego/Maemo.

Side note: Why would anyone that understands what Maemo/Meego have to offer ditch either OS in favor of Android? (unless they got duped into thinking Maemo/Meego was a phone OS...)? Right now my N900 is booted into Android awaiting me to finish a cop chase in Asphalt 5. Would I chose Android even if it was fully functional and never go back to Maemo? No. Why would I limit myself and lose the mobile computing aspect that makes the N900 what it is... What does an Android port on the N900 have to do with the N9 that runs Meego....nothing except boost Engadgets agenda to try to make people think Android (in any condition) is a better option than Meego/Maemo/the N9.

They didn't say it was fully functional now... The title implies that a fully functional version threatens to be available before the official release of the N9.

As I said earlier I don't have a compelling reason to use it yet but will pro'ly install it later simply because I can.

It sounds like the N900's slider is mapped to the Androids "home" button. If so, then the program is not really closed and continues to run in the background. If this "home" key mapping is correct, when you hold the slider in the open position for a bit longer a "pop tart" will appear on the screen showing your most recent open apps.

Can everyone just take the discussion to nitdroid forums? Almost each problem listed in this thread has been answered and solved on there with occasional linking back to TMO for instructions already provided on some issues.
No dis dude but I have no intention of posting an answer or opinion on another forum for something that was asked or stated on this forum.

And although what you say may be true, a maemo.org member has no way of knowing this without first visiting and possibly registering on that forum. As a result your post could be regarded as SPAM.

Back to the Engadget report:

This all reminds me of this thread >> http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=27343

Does anyone here actually have one of these yet?

I can choose it from Multiboot but can't set the mhz
this is talking about maemo's titans kernel..
if u install fresh nitdroid, it boots to stock kernel..
if u wanna overclock nitdroid
xterm in maemo
mount /dev/mmcblk1p1 /and
then look for the overclocking thingy on nitdroid forum
copy the template u need, paste it on notepad and named it "power.conf" then copy it to ur emmc
then xterm, cp /home/user/MyDocs/power.conf /and/system/etc/power.conf
and use ur own brain and correct the spellings
