Oh, so now you're saying the issue is outbound from the N9, not inbound from the web?
Anyway thanks, will test it out....

I'm trying to get my video feed to show on my brother's iphone, so my family can at least see me while I'll be overseas. Currently I can see him when he calls via vtok, but he can't see me. So I followed steps from this: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...8&postcount=70

However both .deb files won't install via filebox, giving an invalid installation package error. I then followed steps to install it via terminal as per this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgYU8SlpJ6I

T̶o̶ ̶w̶h̶i̶c̶h̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶t̶e̶r̶m̶i̶n̶a̶l̶ ̶t̶o̶l̶d̶ ̶m̶e̶:̶
s̶h̶:̶ ̶f̶i̶l̶e̶ ̶n̶a̶m̶e̶:̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶f̶o̶u̶n̶d̶
d̶p̶k̶g̶:̶ ̶n̶e̶e̶d̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶a̶c̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶o̶p̶t̶i̶o̶n̶

Found the problem, took the 'i' as the '|' symbol from the terminal UI while watching the video, using 'i' worked. Hopefully uninstalling does the job!

UPDATE: After installing liboil and gstreamer .debs, video on both sides stopped showing, audio is good for both sides. Uninstalled both, rebooted N9.

Video now works for both sides!! However the video on the iphone side is so slow and grainy it might as well be nonexistent. Works though. Smooth as butter if calling pc-iphone.

Although it seems that this thread had been aborted, I hope someone can read my ideas and reply on them. First I have two Gmail accounts, opened one of them on the PC and the other on the phone. Tried to call from the phone to the PC but didn't find the video call button. I used the (revert to old chat) option in the gmail account on the PC and the video call button shown on that contact in the phone and I can call to the PC and see video from both sides. The problem is when calling from PC using the option (more - start video chat) I receive the call on the phone with two phone icons green and red. When I hit the green button the video page is opened but it shows me only and it looks like that the PC didn't detect the action of hitting the green phone icon as answer and it continues waiting for answer and the phone continues connecting. I tried all the suggestions in this forum without success. I hope anyone can help.

No reply. Well, is it useful to reinstall the firmware?

Well, I did: flashed the phone, reinstalled the same firmware, the same version. Nothing changed. Still, it may be a firmware issue. Shall I try to replace with another firmware?

Is there a reliable solution to make gtalk video work, or this feature is dead 100%?

I think for now google closed video over xmpp completely, and this thread can be closed.

On February 3rd, 2015, Google sent a system message to users stating, "Google Talk app for Windows will stop working on Feb 16 2015. It is replaced by the new Hangouts Chrome app."
This is probably when Google Talk will stop working completely on N9(00)?

Maybe someone would be willing to write Hangouts client for Harmattan, or port Hangish from Sailfish?
