Is there an SSU Devel Thumb as well?
SSU and SSU(devel) are disabled by default.
Don't enable them.

No SSU(devel) is not thumb.

by terminal
dpkg -l pulseaudio

but since the version naming of pulseaudio is so long it never shows fully what version it is.

maybe you can try to redirect the output to a text file and then observe it.

Nokia-N900:~# cd /home/user/MyDocs/
Nokia-N900:/home/user/MyDocs# dpkg -l *pulse* >pulse.txt
Nokia-N900:/home/user/MyDocs#

and then open the file to see the version.

libpulse-mainloop-glib0
libpulse0
pulseaudio
pulseaudio-esound-compat
pulseaudio-module-bluetooth
pulseaudio-module-gconf
pulseaudio-module-hal

should have same version.

or if you want to strain your eyes you can just lower the font size in terminal to 8 or 6 and then try
dpkg -l *pulse*

for me i cant see a thing at that font size maybe you can

"You need PC Suite to update" is a euphemism for "you don't have enough root space on your phone". Look here for an advice of how to clear up some root space but read it very carefully. Alternatively run the update from the command line but I won't tell you how because you can screw up quite badly if you don't know what you are doing and if you do know, then you do not need me telling you.

Another interpretation of "You need PC Suite to update" would be "please activate the appropriate repositories"

I tested that after a reflash, and hit the same issue.

Clicking on 'details' in HAM we have dependency problems:
application packages missing:
osso-systemui-powerkeymanu (>= 0.3.0.2+0cssu0)
rtcom-messaging-ui-portrait (>= 1.0)
system-services (>=0.3.8-68+0cssu1)
upstart (>=0.3.8-68+0cssu1)

apt-get install mp-fremantle-community-pr at the prompt yields the same results.

This is from a fresh reflash, so I suppose this is a repo problem.

Have you added and enabled cssu testing repo along with cssu thumb repo before trying to install?
