Nokia is back, but not out of the woods yet
The Lumia 800 puts Nokia back on the map.

That's appropriately symbolic alright. Nokia's reached an apex and the only direction left to go in is down. I'm just surprised we didn't see Microsoft's Balmer meet the guy at the top to hop-and-skip him down arm-in-arm.

10+ years of Nokia

I was cleaning out the garage over the weekend, and I found a box with a ton of my old stuff. Popped it open and saw my old phones. Decided to take a group photo, haha

lol, I have ATT, so no 3g support, which is why I got the N97 (huge regrets) and not the N900

Lumia 800 made by Compal, 710 by Nokia says Savander (bit more to it than just the heading)

There's nothing amazing/surprising about the story, just interesting...

If only the N9 had used hw more similar to this, sigh, if only
http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/20/panasonic-eluga/
There were rumors to that effect... (along w/the UM8500)

If the 3rd Maemo6x phone had been allowed to proceed.*
We may well have seen something with similar base specs.
And it most probably would be shipping any wk now...

*It was planned as a stop-gap before the 1st "real" MeeGo Medfield.
But only if the 1st Medfield couldn't be delivered till H1 2012 (which now seems apparent).

Was the August 2011 article by Netbooknews.de rumouring of a second Nokia Meego-based device (notebook) subsequently dismissed?

Yeah it's well & truly dead...
Senior management's already made that very clear.
It may live on in a stripped-down form on lower-end devices.
(meltemi project that's rumored to replace S40)
