The design guidlines are only for Devices, Documents and Logos... not inside a Text or something like that. And our Competition Advertisment it is more like a "Headline". Not a single Logo.
Otherwise we should rename this thread from:
"MeeGo Coding Competition 2011"
to
" _ MeeGo _ Coding Competition 2011"

If we follow this rules everywhere, then we should really follow this rules everywhere!

In my opinion we are fine with the logo we're using since 3 weeks. Sorry mrsellout. But is changing this every week really a good idea?
In my opinion not. But perhaps someone has a other opinion. Perhaps a "weekly countdown logo" could be a nice idea. Every week a new Logo with the time we have until the competition ends. But currently there is to much work to do at other construction zones.

Mrsellout, we would need a Logo for the MeeGo coding competition 2012. Perhaps I could familiarize myself with the color pink until next year. (everythink except my bedroom if you try to understand my pain)
We will see what happens during this competition and the rest of this year. Nobody knows if we have at the next competition still the N900 part or if we all working with a great successor or not.

In my opinion we should only correct the maemo part of the current logo as texrat said last week. But I don't have the original File made by noobmonkey. So I've attached only a fast mockup.
I need to apologise here. I first made a banner in response to Texrat's comments. He also posted a link to the Meego Style Guide (MSG) for the colours for the MeeGo logo, which I completely misunderstood as a request for the whole banner to follow the style guide. This is clearly not the case, you only have to go to www.meego.com to see that the MSG isn't followed online (in fact even the SF logo fails to meet it).

That was the only reason I was pushing different banners. That was the reason the spacing looked funny (read the MSG's line on exclusion zone), that was the reason I used magenta (the brightest colour in their palette).

In my opinion nobody has to apologise here for doing stuff in their spare time and contributing to our competition.

Thanks a lot for your Design, the hard work and the time you've spent doing it. We are all here, trying to contribute the way we are able to do. And we are here to learn. Learning Development, learning more about our Devices and learning how to work together at such a project without knowing each other. Never mind where are we from, which religion we have or the educational background of each contributor.

This is the second competition and we have still to learn a lot.
Perhaps we could modify your current layout next year a little bit and use it for our MeeGo Coding Competition 2012.

It's can be a little tricky though, in that sometimes the box isn't there automatically on the payment screen and you have to click a blue '+' sign to open it. You deserve to be recognised on the bounty roll of honor for being so generous, so make sure you let zehjotkah know who you are!

For example, here's a screenshot of my donation for the previous competition. The box to put your maemo.org username should be on the left hand side, if not click the '+' sign to open it up.

After sending you'll get a confirmation code and an email, from Paypal, to your registered email address to confirm it.

Unfortunately we discovered last time that it's not possible to avoid Paypal fees, even with donations. If you are able to give a little more to help cover the fees of your donation that would be amazing, however it's not expected - the organisers will be genuinely very grateful for everything you contribute. For some ideas of what Paypal takes for a transaction amount check out the wiki, zehjotkah is listing the donations, paypal fees, and the amount into the bounty.

Staying on the bounty theme, has the prize split been decided yet zehjotkah? I don't notice it on the wiki. That's one lesson learned from the last time was to decide as early as possible so everyone knows how their donation will be spent.
oh... I am late to read this instruction. When I made the donation , I didn't found any place that I could add the message.. I have to inform zehjotkah by private message. May be it is better to have more instruction in the wiki.

That's a good idea, Ben. I made a quick edit to the donation section to include a link to my post with instructions. I've also made a few changes to the wording in the section, Cosimo, so please check it all out that it's still ok

By the way, Ben, will you be entering an app for this time? I hope so!

As most people will know, Ben was one of our winners last time and his prize was to fly all the way from Hong Kong to Dublin to hang out at the MeeGo conference. Not only was he a winner in the Maemo coding competition, but also a winner in Nokia's own 'Calling all Innovators' app competition aswell. So 2010 was a double lucky year for Ben, I hope 2011 is even better

It's great to see some familiar names on the participant list already

Hi everyone.

Sorry for the delay in updating the site design.
The guy doing all the backend stuff is ill, and I have simply not the knowledge to do it.

Please keep in mind that only to http://competition.meetmeego.org submitted Apps take part at the MeeGo Coding Competition. The wiki is only for informational (advertising) purposes. So please submit your App on http://competition.meetmeego.org as soon as possible!

edit: an please an applause for LUCID/iron!!!
