these are the video files that I've downloaded to my desktop and play fine on that...but they don't play on the N900 when I transfer them over.

Can someone have a look and see if there's anything I can do?

have no idea how to rectify this problem and its annoying me beyond belief.

That is https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6823 . WIll be fixed in the next update, hence no commenting needed...

In general, also see for example https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6635 for MP4 with H264 which is WONTFIX.

anyone had their mp4 issue fixed??

my samsung digital camera records in .mp4 format and through settings i can ensure the resolution etc are suitable for Nokia n900.....but alas, no luck playing. I even downloaded the Extras Decoders but that didnt help with .mp4

- any clarification from anyone on how to fix this issue?
