Hey guys. I'm a newbie as well in Linux...
I did the whole process entring the differents lines in Ubuntu running on VWplayer on WinXP.
The problem arrives when I enter :
./flasher --enable-rd-mode --reboot
I get "Suitable USB device not found, waiting"
Can't get it to do anything... I've tried to click on the USB device bar on top (it does appear there !) but it stands still.

I think that the issue is with VWplayer. I susppsect that the host os is interfering with the guest os, and not allowing it to access hardware properly.
The typical fix for this (if you read through the thread) is to get a live cd, and flash through the live cd. Great thing about live cds is that you don't have to install, they run straight from the CD. There is even a live cd version for Ubunut (shudder).
