Thanks Rattis, I will give it a try tonight. I just need to follow the terminal commands from before with finding the flasher on my drive. Do I have to designate where the flasher is, since with the VMware, I would DL the flasher through firefox to the desktop, so it knew where to run the flasher, without me telling it where it was. I just don't want to get hung up, after running the disc, and wonder how find the file.

Hey guys. I'm a newbie as well in Linux...

I did the whole process entring the differents lines in Ubuntu running on VWplayer on WinXP.

The problem arrives when I enter :

./flasher --enable-rd-mode --reboot

I get "Suitable USB device not found, waiting"

Can't get it to do anything... I've tried to click on the USB device bar on top (it does appear there !) but it stands still.

I think that the issue is with VWplayer. I susppsect that the host os is interfering with the guest os, and not allowing it to access hardware properly.

The typical fix for this (if you read through the thread) is to get a live cd, and flash through the live cd. Great thing about live cds is that you don't have to install, they run straight from the CD. There is even a live cd version for Ubunut (shudder).
