I'd love to see if this lives up to the hype. If they can deliver it with Ubuntu for $399 (with keyboard), or if someone ports Maemo to it, I'd be in.

Use an internal USB slot for 3G card.
Use another internal USB slot (or two) for a full size SDHC card reader.

I think I could be QUITE happy with that as my "bigger than pocket, smaller than desktop" device.

I believe it.

The linux devices article adds a little more info:

Interesting, but not the phone replacement I'm hoping to get with the n900.

The system board is a modified version of TI's hobbyist BeagleBoard
Now that's an interesting twist. I just hope they put in more memory than the beagle board originally has

256MB, according to the specs (which matches with the Rev. C Beagle).

why should ubuntu be shipped with it?
You can install both ubuntu or Maemo yourself... (ok, i'm not sure if the maemo for beagleboard is working yet)

Mer would be a really good OS for touchscreen netbooks too, i think. Anybody tried if fremantle looks okay on higher screen resolutions than 800x480?

I didn't say "they should ..."

I said "if they do, I'll buy it."
