<img src="http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/the_sun.png" title="Obligatory bad guy: This operation is sheer foolishness, and it's not happening on my watch! Mainly because I can't figure out how to adjust the time." alt="The Sun" /><br/>

Xkcd readers refer to the title attribute as the "alt text". The OP just wants to be able to read this.

How dare you. The Finnish Gods decided long ago that Maemo users must not need "View source". - Who are you to claim the Gods are wrong?

I been working on a webcomic app for maemo. xkcd with alt text support would be a nice feature I'd think. Would people want that?

I dunno, but I really don't need this Coke bottle.

If you are displaying content that's being output as HTML, yes. Being able to read/hear the ALT and TITLE tags should be enabled by default, disabled by choice (its an accessibilty thing, not really a style or comic thing).

anyway... to answer the question: you can somehow show it, but its too long to be readable. The Gods will tell you the average user will not want to read such long texts.

@benny1967 That looks like a bug that I haven't seen since firefox 2.x (there was a plugin to fix that too)

The webcomic app would get your favorite webcomics and download them to the device and provide a gui to view and search them.

Fennec? [and additional letters to appease the more-that-10-letters-per-reply nazi]

Ew, that's a problem. Title tags should wrap, and viewable upon a long press. Making it dependent upon the cursor mode action is a lot unintuitive.

This whole cursor mode thing isnt very intuitive (nor does it work without a stylus), but I cant think of anything better

I agree on the rendering of @title-texts... either you render them or not. Displaying only the first few words is nonsense, especially if there's no way to see the rest.
I'm not sure if tap'n hold is the right thing for this... it brings up the context menu, which I wouldn't want to miss. - Could be an entry in the context menu, though...
