Most probably bottlenecked by the slow eMMC, IO seems to slow down the N900.

Not directly. I took the souce and compiled it quick and dirty to see if it works. The prog. is working, but ui is funked up, so not all settings can be use/seen atm. Will have a look around maemo and the source from qwerty12 how to make this ui useable.

Yeah, noticed that IO operations use massive CPU amounts. What should happen then in a multi-threaded IO intensive application

Interesting use of the big C right there. The C word. We really do need a more shocking utterance.

I have to wonder if just bumping it to 2.03 will really "magically" fix all the troubles the previous version had on the N900 (I have my own doubts). Remember that same version worked very well on the N8x0....

Little bit offtopic, but today I did firmware upgrade to my Argosy media player. The new firmware now have BitTorrent client that I'm testing right now... It has a web server interface that I do access from my computer with a web browser. The firmware is GPL, so it is possible to port the BitTorrent part to N900? If nothing else, just for the sake of having fun... In addition there may be some cool bitsfor media decoding too. (It plays pretty much all media formats...)

The firmware source code can be loaded here:
