I wonder if maybe there are those in your address book that are not organized properly? For example, where you have the full name in "First name" and not split properly between the two fields? So for a friend named "Foo Bar", maybe you have:
First Name: Foo Bar
Last Name: {blank}

I had this issue with some of the addresses in my contact list, where some looked valid, but OVI maps would fail to come up when I pressed the address in the contact list. When opened the contact card, the full address was all in one field, not split across the 4 or 5 like it should have been. When I corrected that for the few that were wrong, mapping worked fine for them. Maybe this is similar?
