Wait, the Sony PSP had a TV Out that uses another conector besides the 3.5mm jack. Maybe the N900 can do HD out with something like that, I mean, normal TV-Out with the 3.5mm jack plus the microusb. Or am I crazy??

noBounds was wireless.

Plus extra display-side processing hardware.

Plus lots of smoke and mirrors.

So? i think he's talking about HD video out, and the N900 cant manage such resolution for what i know (but whatever TI OMAP spreadsheets said, like DSP support up to 720x480, i know some phones with same SoC has the trick to record and play 720p, so... i invoke the olympus of the coders for such a miracle )

And good night everyone! ZzZzZzZzzz

Well of course you can output video/audio thru a USB/HDMI adapter but it will not be HD.
not adepter, standard usb hdmi cable (like samsung's one)....

It is a adapter.
In USB, out HDMI. It is a adapter. Even though it is a cable, it is still a adapter.

Your information is a tad outdated and confusing - maybe wrong.

HDMI 1.3 provides a theoretical data rate of 10.2 Gbps

USB2 provides a theoretical data rate of 480 Mbps.
USB3 is roughly about 5Gbps, however most manufacturers wont even begin to put this on their boards until 2011.

So can the N900 do HD resolution? Probably not enough grunt. 1024x768 pixels is the lower end of the scale for the HD buzzword to apply.

This is an answer I would be curious to know though - what is different hardware/software wise that would prevent the n900 from using that same adapter?

Well, the obvious answer is, of course, displaylink:

I've got one, it's great and I can't wait to try it with my N900. Now we just need the damn host mode...
