Okay, I changed it to "Wall street journal on rumour:" By now, this is buzzing all over the internet, and quite a lot of articles tends to ignore the "fishy" part. The fact that the stocks are at april(?) 1998 levels, means that this might be a once in a decade and a half opportunity. And, considering that a 1998 dollar is worth far more than a 2011 dollar, probably the best opportunity since cell phones became common. There will be rumours, and there will be people going over the numbers right now. Even in One Buggy Loop street.

That is much more likely to happen with Samsung than with Microsoft, agreed. But at this rate, total Nokia collapse is also a possibility.

Funny though, both Microsoft and Nokia denied the rumours. Now both Samsung and Nokia deny to comment on the rumours. There's a difference.

Nokias stance on Rumours as always been no comment But the Microsoft and Nokia rumour was around for over a month and would not go away and also had a named source although not very reliable one imo.
Elop wanted to squash that b/c he as joined from Microsoft and with all Anti-trust laws and potential investigations it was in their interest to comment on it.

This Samsung rumour started on a site with no source what so ever and as only been going on a few hours, Even bigger difference.

But I want to go back to the what if... Does anyone have any entertaining visions on what Samsung would do to the different operating systems, or the Nokia brand name?

Not to turn this into an economy lesson or debate, because I was really just being a smartass. Only reason I can think of that it isn't worth less is that the US does economic voodoo.

*shrugs* Never taken econ, If it isn't inflated, it sure feels that way. definitely feels that way compared to 1998.
