deleted that and some of these folders that do not pertain to any installed applications now and now have about 187MB available.

i have aboyt 1100 contacts...most with pictures.

i deleted the cached files of the email accounts that i do not have on the device anymore. also, the calendar backups that seemed to be in there with exception to the latest i saw in there from sept 27.

how about the abook backup? can i delete it? all my contacts are on the exchange server.

what would happen if i deleted the email caches? would they just resync and create the new files that should pertain to what is current, rather then adding the old redundant info?

Don't know what will happen if you delete the backup; I assume since it is a backup nothing bad. I dont think it matters though because it will be recreated sooner or later and then it will be all the same again.

For the emails why you don't resynchronise all? There is a button in the settings - it will delete the cache and will re-download.

yes. just finished deleting a lot of data using midnight commander.

also did a complete resync. just seems that having 270+MB space is a lot to have a back up for what is synced through exchange.

down to only 193MB free now. just not sure why it is so full.

also, i am copying the data from the contacts backup to my memory...then i will delete and see what happens.

i would think that since it is synced to a server, that it shouldhnt have to have a bac copy.
