You know. Art,music and drawings are my weakest side. I have freinds living on that ****. Honestly I cant see how that is art but what the hell people paying for their stuff around the globe.

I need a gun. An airplane and a perachute and im good to go. Add some skies to that and you will see an artist.

But im verious envious of people with drawing or musical skills. So keep it up.

I've held off watching the film for a long time...
I knew I'd need to be ...what...in the right frame of mind to appreciate it? ...psychologically or emotionally prepared enough?....I don't know...hmm

I had no idea what to expect....and so had no preconceptions...
it definitely surprised me

Like few... if any films ...I've seen.
What genre even to put it in...
Redemptive? Love Story? Horror? Sci-fi? Utopian? Dystopian? Just-around-the corner-technology film? called "Speculative Fiction" rather than Sci-fi....since it is closer to what could happen than Sci-fi.
Not saying what is in the film could happen...just that the overall prevading theme is our species problems and the answers we choose to solve them....for good and bad.

Real... live...flesh and blood actors and sets.... and animation...
Think of ..."Who framed roger rabbit", "Cool World", "Jacob's Ladder" and "Repo Men"...just to name a few...smooshed together into one movie and then take some LSD to watch it.... alot of LSD...
and those films don't compare.

The 1st half of the film creeps toward what we can do and are doing...for good and bad... technologically...
and the most definite inescapable fact there is no stopping it..
(as a consequence such film can't be called "A Cautionary Tale"..what use the caution ..eh? ......seems to be more and more prevalent in film...the aspect of fate dominating and free-will and choice departing...though this film has a strange mix, balance and juxtaposition with the undercurrent theme...similar in a way to that new movie "The Machine"...also well done.....hmm)
The most horrifying thing about the film ...I was surprised to realize ...was the ability to offer humanity the ultimate prize of "Free Choice"
to do..or be....or experience whatever...total nirvana...paradise...whatever desired.
I think that as humans the knowledge of the passage of time..and understanding our environs and seeing for good and bad right and wrong...is important...it makes us human...rather than animal..or something else completely different...others may view this film differently...
I figure myself to be a moderately creative and imaginative person...humbly said...(the actual truth of the matter being rather ...that my mind is quite quite active)...but this runs riot...
I never dreamt it to be a possible horror.

The 2nd half of the film definitely is the repercussion.

I won't even try to explain what it is specifically about....
How it made me feel in so many different ways...
One of those films I know I'll be watching it over and over.
It'll stay in my film vault.

Did anyone die in the end?

Considering the principles of physics professed by the tech in the film ...dare I say many died...but it is hard to guess at....was it illusory?...or were the countless transmogrified people into animated characters did die...tough question.
Alot of prime actors in it though Keitel, Wright, Giamatti ...etc..

Hmm...ya know after a little reflection...

Hmmm...When you sit down and watch the film...
And make it through the uncomfortable feeling of watching the world change around our protagonist...like riding a roller coaster ride...or going over small hills in a fast car...stomach unsettling...like the floor going out from underneath you...
And .....when you begin to just feel like possibly accepting the new world in the film...and see and marvel at the beauty and paradise of it....
Then the big plummet When you see (as characters in the film put it...) "The Truth"...
Bloody Hell.
Horrorshow....chilling.
I think what is scary about this film...is how normal and concrete it begins and progresses....step by step into truly an absolute unknown ....divorced from reality....and it isn't simply a standard case of this occurring like in so many many films ...that it occurs to only 1 or a few...or many people....no no....not at all....this occurs for pretty much everyone in this film.

I'd settle for ...Zombies, Killer Viruses...
Hell...give me a Sharknado any old day...
Dave's Terminator Apocalypse...looks rosier...
...Even if the A.S.I. wins and all it wants is to peacefully co-inhabit ...to share the planet with us,
or make us pets,
or enslave us,
or exterminate us...

At least there is more hope in that scenario for us or our A.S.I. created offspring.

Of course it is Speculative Fiction...
but...sitting back and really taking a gooood look around me...

-we are getting closer with A.G.I. ...

-we are playing with lab grown brain tissue figuring out how neurons work...

-we've finished mapping the human genome and now we are figuring it out...and not just our species genome...many other species too...
- nanotech is pretty much on the doorstep,
-drones are flying willy-nilly with onboard gps, battery and camera equipment that they are now trying to emulate the replacement job of the outgoing bee species....which would have been impossible to fit on a cow 50 years ago...even if the quality of equipment now could have been made then.

So......what exactly is Speculative fiction....let alone Sci-fi ...anymore...when looking at what we are doing in the present.
