yeah n900 sucks.

*goes to use n900 to play angry birds and zen bound*

I'm not begging you to stay in this relationship but let me tell you that you've missed a number of important aspects that people usually overlook on this device.

I almost gave up on it too. I canceled my unlimited 3G data and call and text from my provider because I didn't find the N900 useful since last month.

a week ago though, I didn't care much about my n900 to try to overclock it. (yes, many dangers. i didnt care so i tried it)
it doubled the speed and responsiveness of the phone and web browser. touchscreen swipes, transitions, app loading, scrolling, and overall speed DOUBLED maybe even TRIPLED.
Emulators run some/many games 100% now as well, especially GBA and SNES games. Never tried PSX games yet though.

Battery life hasn't decreased but Im sure the CPU wont last for a year or 2. (i dont care because by then i would have bought a new phone)

Overclocking is dangerous if you don't know what you're doing but seeing that the n900 has unlockable sections within it, makes it really a computer with a phone. I'm liking it again.

Its not recommended to overclock your n900 but instead of waiting for updates that make the OS 1.004x faster (which is nothing), I overclocked it. Now its frequency is the same as the Snapdragon. lol

Yes it has a very small selection of apps and games but many of those are very useful. Zen bound, DrNokSnes, ConnectNow, HoopsFrenzy, Angry Birds, MyPaint, PenPen, readers, and many more!

HINT: This is Maemo.ORG Do you see the word "Nokia" anywhere in there? How about ".com"? No? So, then, this would be the place where YOU share YOUR NEAT hacks, settings, app finds, things to do with the n900.

You can complain to Nokia on a Nokia forum.

May I refer you to this review by two Droid and iPhone fans comparing Maemo after Pr 1.2 to the Droid and iPhone. http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=57435

I raise Texrat's offer by €5 to €60.

N900 can run many different software but their quality are not as good as default web browser, so it is useless.

- No Flash Player 10.1 Support.

- Video Players (Default, SIB and KMPlayer) not as good as I expected, as it can play many different format of video files but lack of subtitle and audio selection supports.

- For game, most game emulators are running slow, dos box also has the same problem.

- Camera quality is not good as too much noise for night shot.

- No Meego OS support from Nokia.

- Phone function is not good to use.
Thank you for sharing. I appreciate it.

BTW: I want to give up watching porn. Just thought you might be interested to know.

Seriously, buddy, don't be hasty! Wait for NitDroid! You watch, djsteve and e-yes are going to get it working like a champ. It's fun to watch, and you'll save money

Myself, I'm thinking about overclocking, too. But I'm waiting around for it to get even simpler, and until I am more clear about its integration with nitdroid.

re nitdroid, I beleive steve etc are working on an auto-install process, whic will make android on N900 much more accessible to end users like myself who would struggle to see where we went wrong if install didnt work...So maybe android on N900 isnt unconceivable, cheaper than getting new phone if dont get on with maemo, I personally think N900 is one of the best phones I have owned.

That's exactly right, Luz. If you keep the N900 you have choice between OSes. But if you switch to, say, the Droid you're stuck with Android.
