From what i've seen of TK, programs using it only have simple widgets.

Would it be possible to write a wrapper / translator for tk stuff to corresponding hildon widgets? I keep finding neato TK stuff.

COOOL (thanks to ukki for link!)

Get ready to be happy people!

All of the dependencies for Scid, ukki found a way to resolve each and every one of them for the tablet tonight. That man seriously has a huge brain!

New graphics, engines, features, options, and yes, even sound is all there now.

If ukki doesn't post on this, I will within the following day or two.

And for all of you that have looked at this thread and haven't thanked him yet, what were you thinking? *lol*

Okay. I updated Ukki's latest creation on the first post of this thread.

Hopefully, I'll have more to offer by the end of the week.

It's great to see somebody else finally took notice of this.

If more interest was generated from Scid, there might have been a chance but I doubt he'll take it any further.

It was a monster for him to compile.

I would suggest running this through Xterm so you can close it out if it crashes.

Installing a right click stylus hack will help you with the layout.

Post some picks if you would. I'd like to see how it looks on the N900.

Judging from Addison's post it doesn't seem to be stable enough, but I could always try to push it to -devel. I'm also interested to see how it looks and behaves on n900 (judging from your optified comment you are using it?)

Yeah, it's not all too stable.

Timeseal, changing the highlight color of a piece being moved, the chess engines and a few others causes a lock down from the application.

There's a trick around most of them but it takes several hours to understand it's behavior.

I'd love to make suggestions but, as it is, I can watch live international matches on a 480x480 board with an analysis engine to show the best move.

It's easily good enough for me.

Any requests beyond that would seem petty for sure.

So yeah, it's not perfect, but enjoy what is there because with all of the options available, it more than makes up for severral of it's shortcomings.

it's brilliant as it is lol, no complaints from me, as i just use it to go analyse my games or thru pgn mastergames and books. i don't even use it to watch live matches ...

as addison said, it would definitely benefit from a right click stylus hack (which i haven't any idea how to do) as lots of options req it. everything is *slightly* cramped, and some pop-up option screens do not display full-screen, but it's very usable all things considered. also, i've not had any lockups yet, but probably because i haven't used too many of the advance functions (changing engines seems to work fine for me)

i just figured that if it got optified it might encourage more peeps to try it as it takes up a whopping 25Mb on rootfs lol

thanks again
